The Force for Nanofiber Production
Centrifugal Force – The Force for ROI!
Forcespinning Technology™ does not use electrostatic force to create nanofibers. Instead, a vessel (spinneret) is rotated centrifugally on an axis at very high RPM. This rotation forces polymer solution or melt through an orifice and the sheer force upon exit draws the polymer into the submicron scale. The viscosity and RPM work together to control fiber diameter and homogeneity of the fibers.
The Force for Increased Output Capacity – 1 Gram/Minute/Orifice
- Capital Expenditures – Increased output capacity reduces capital expenditures to achieve desired production thresholds.
- Quality Fibers – Average fiber diameters of 300nm and below, with excellent homogeneity.
The Force for Decreased Operating Expense – Save 71%
- Solution Spinning – Solution spinning with Forecespinning Technology™ uses 18-21% concentration levels compared to 4-9% with electrospinning. Dielectric solutions are not required, enabling cheaper and non-corrosive solvents to be used (such as water).
- Melt Spinning – Forcespinning Technology works well in the melt, which enables production without solvent and provides yields of 100%. Furthermore, no salts are required to create a dielectric melt, such as with electrospinning.
